I am about 95% of the way through W8, having completely cleared all maps before Ascension Peak. I managed to bust my right hand on Ferro, with all the buying and selling.
I have 2 Bishops, who have every skill above 75, except for Mace and Flail, and Shield skills. At their level ups, the game only allows me to distribute 6/9 skill points (3 each to Mace and Flail, and Shield skills). So you end up losing 3 potential skill points.
I have reason to believe, then, that if you were to have 6 stats maxed before level 50, that the game would cheat you out of 3 stat points (only allowing you to put 3 points into your last stat), instead of the 6 stat points at level up that you normally get.
Therefore, some careful planning is involved, so that you get all 6 stat points at level up. A level 50 Human, built perfectly, would have 6 stats maxed, and the 7th "dump stat", would be at 74. Hobbits' "dump stat" would be at 69, and the other races' "dump stat" would be at 64 or 59.
Take my Level 37 Human Fighter, a simple example. He has base stats Strength, Dexterity, Speed, and Senses 100. He also has 65 Intelligence, 65 Piety, and 66 Vitality.
You want to level up evenly, giving +2 each level up to your 3 remaining stats, until you get his dump stat (Intelligence), to 74 (and no higher), at the same time that your 5th and 6th skills are even. This happens at level 42. He will have: Intelligence 74, Piety 76, Vitaity 76.
Now, distribute all 6 points at level up (3 into Piety, 3 into Vitality). At level 50, it should look like this: 74 Intelligence, 100 Piety, 100 Vitality. My Fighter has now maxed Piety and Vitality, unlocking Iron Will and Iron Skin, while wasting no stat points (Intelligence at 74 is unimpressive, but it serves a point).
