If you give the berserker sword (Bloodlust), which you get very early in the game, to your rogue, he will backstab with berserk, multiplying his damage. He will be an absolute beast with this sword for the whole game.
Dont give it to a fighter, they get berserk anyway.

Yes but he won’t do any damage at range because the sword is cursed.
Yeah, you'll find every cursed weapon has a nasty negative to it, so make sure to read up on anything before you equip it. Of course, if you balance your party out so your Rogue isn't needed to hit the back row, you're good. But a swarm of 15 or 20 enemies of the wrong type can be a pain in some spots if you're not hitting anything...
Put the rogue in front, give him the bloodlust and another fast weapon, train him in swords and speed. He will do the most damage in the party, due to the combi effect of berserk and backstab. Theres no need to change weapons and do ranged damage.
So now you have a front ranker in weak armour that can’t cast spells or fight at range... it can work for you but most groups would like to put their backs against a wall and wait for the enemy to close the distance. Have you also got a Bishop or Lord that can at least remove the curse before battle so that your Rogue can use a triple-shot crossbow as the enemy approaches?
I remember my warrior with Bloodlust + superman + attack speed did 4 attacks at once, so 8-12 hits in one round. I wouldn't say it's bad. It was him and my fairy/elf (sorry I can't recall now) mage who did more than 3/4 party kills.
The one thing to watch out for when you give a character a cursed weapon for pretty much the whole game is skill development. While other characters are taking opportunity shots and building up their bow and ranged weapon skills as time goes by, your cursed character will stagnate. It's significant because there's some high powered bows later on that have an instant kill chance on them. That's a kill chance that can paired up with arrows that have an instant kill chance of their own and can deal out some heavy base damage on top of that.

I like to throw on cursed weapons for tough battles only and enjoy a ranged secondary weapon the rest of the time. A bishop can remove curses easily and other casters can too with the right spell.
What are you talking about, ussnorway, if you wanna do ranged combat, do ranged combat, this is a tip on how to do insane damage in melee. Removing the curse each time is very impractical and unnecessary.

It’s your game m8 and I’m happy for you.
