One question occurred to me when I was answering a question in another topic:

If you are playing in Iron Man mode, and the game crashes, what happens to your save? In particular, what state is your game in when you try to load your save after the crash?

(One easy way to reproduce this crash: Get at least 2 of a type of potion usable outside of combat, use one of them, then keep pressing (IIRC) Shift+U to use the rest; when the last one is used, the game will crash with an assertion.)

Nothing happens. You can simply reload the last save, which will probably be the end of last combat or resting, or area transition. Same if you die from enviroment.
The only case where an ironman save can become "corrupted" is when you use the teleport spell and you fall through the ground. The save will be after area transition and reloading will simply lead to another death.
