I've downloaded The Witcher Adventure Game twice now at different times and both versions download fine but refuse to install when I execute. The progress bar never moves from the initial position and when I right click the installer I get a pop-up saying "Out of Stack Range". Any help would be very much appreciated.

First of all, what is your OS? If windows, are you installing as administrator? It is possible your download is corrupt, have you tried downloading with the GOG downloader?

My OS is Windows 7. My profile is an Admin profile. I downloaded two versions of the game with GOG Downloader. Versions 2.0.28.20 and 2.0.30.23. Both versions resulted in the same error

Thanks for your time and any help you can provide.
When you installed, did you right click the exe and select "run as administrator"? At what point during installation does this error occur?

Sorry I was out of town for a few days. The problem persists and I've attached a screenshot. Also this particular instance happened after I "Ran as administrator"

That is a VERY interesting problem (sorry, being a QA guy, all problems are interesting, but I guess it's irritating to you guys).

It would be great if you could contact support directly with as many information and reproduction steps as you can. Firek can redirect you to us and we can contact you directly to help solve this problem.

1) What OS and what version of it you have installed
2) What is the path you are trying to install in
3) Are other GOG installers working for you?
4) What are the exact steps you performed?
5) Are there any background processes running, like skype, antivirus, firewalls, games, other installers etc.
6) DxDiag.

These are just some off the top of my head.
I have a more specific question - how soon does it happen after the progress bar appears? Is it immediate, or does it take a couple of seconds?
Does it happen in any other installer from GOG?

Could you post a screenshot of your list of processes in Task Manager when the error appears? You can send it via PM to me if you don't want to post it here.

for me, the error doesn't appear by itself, it only appears if you right click the window or if you move the window a lot..

i'm attaching the task manager processes

Same with Mine. I wonder why they say different things. Anyhow here are the shots of the processes I;m running at installation. I reinstalled the downloader and nothing changed. All of my other games are downloading fine.

Thank you both for the screenshots.

@ChrisMes: I don't see the installer process at all in your screenshot (should be "setup_the_witcher_adventure_game..."). Could you make another screenshot and click the "Mostrar procesos de todos los usuarios" at the bottom left? I'd like to check which processes the installer has started, so I can pinpoint the moment it crashes.

Also - if the error appears when you right-click the window or move it, then what happens if you just wait? Is the installer just frozen at the beginning of the installation until you click it? Do the images in the background change after some time?
If you don't move it or if you don't right click the window, nothing happens, i mean, it doesn't crash by itself. The images in the background do change.

The images change and the links in them are clickable
Found another error on the installer, It happens when i press "space" or "enter" during the installation process.

Here is the image and the error, it's quite large and maybe tells something more than the other one.

Maybe it happens to everyone.

EDIT: hey guys, i did a format for my computer and i was able to install the game ( i did it for other things, my pc was very slow, and i had problems with other games). Thank you for all the support, and i hope that you will be able to find the solution.

Cheers.
