Yes indeed, World Cup does seem to affect number of people playing :))). Having that said, in preparation for inviting more users we're also doing various improvements and fixes to matchmaking algorithms over the weekend, so there might be timeframes when finding opponents will be tougher - sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for helping us with the testing! :)

Hi scampywiak - once the game is officially released in fall, it will also include offline modes ("hot seat" and "vs AI"). The closed beta however was planned to be multiplayer only.
