Hi all,

I am trying to use a joystick - MS sidewinder 2 - with Wings Remastered and no matter what I do the joystick configuration doesn't work.

Anyone have any tips on making this work?

Rob

Me too. I also have a MS Sidewinder 2 and it's not possible to remap the axis and buttons!

Hi there,

i have the same problem.
Using a SpeedLink BlackWidow (Throttle/Rudder/Cooliehat) with many other FlightSims (Il-2 1946, FS2004, First Eagles 2, Jane's WW2 Fighters, CFS2 & 3 ...)
But with Wings i can't reassign the joystick, if i connect the joystick i see only the left view in flight-modus ???

Hope this get fixed!

PS: Kickstarter-Version
Same problem here. thing goes crazy. I thought i was the only one with a still working Sidewinder FF2!
Same problem here also! I'm using a Microsoft Sidewinder. I can fly the plane OK (left, right, up, down), but nothing else works. Still have to use the keyboard for everything else. I also noticed that there was some mention of this problem on the Cinemaware Facebook page.

Obviously, this is a Cinemaware bug. But has anybody here put in a support ticket yet? That's my next step. We need to see what GOG has to say about this. They might have a workaround, but if not, hopefully they will contact Cinemaware.

Thanks a bunch.
I have a CH Flightstick Pro, and it was able to get it to work by putting my throttle into the exact middle.

I noticed that when I tried to reassign a key, it would instantly put axis 3 -. Worst of all, this is the default firing key, so the game was unusable since I couldn't reassign that. Eventually I got around to playing with the throttle, and it started saying 3 + instead. After putting it into the center, I was able to reassign all the keys.

I can confirm this worked with my logitech 3dextreme pro also. Throttle in the middle and everything reassigned perfectly. Also had to uncheck 'invert axis in dogfight'

Rob, with your CHFSPro -- do you notice quite a bit of dead spots in the initial movements in the X/Y axis? I can't seem to get it to register a climb/dive or turn unless I'm quite a ways from the initial movement in each axis.

I too was able to get it to work only after getting the throttle to center...

Thanks!
I didn't notice any dead spots, but it does seem to have very low sensitivity. Strafing/bombing is also hard to do with the joystick. I switched to using my Xbox360-compatible gamepad, a Thrustmaster GPX LightBack F1. (The program doesn't seem to be able to distinguish between multiple controllers, but it was easy to assign buttons that would work with both.)
