Alright gang, see if you can help me out with this issue:

I've been going through the Wing Commander messageboards to see if anyone has run into a similar situation like me- all I've noticed were issues with video/sound stuttering and minor control issues. All of which seem to be resolved by setting dosbox cpu core, cycles to specific values.

HOWEVER - looks like my issue is different. I'm running into an issue where the game works flawlessly, BUT the FMV cinematics freeze. Specifically what's happening is when a cinematic starts, I'll get about 1-2 seconds of playback at 2-3x times the speed and with no audio. After the 1-2 second playback, the cinematic totally freezes up and I'm left with having to hit escape to progress on to the next cinematic or to proceed to the gameplay.

I've attempted to run this game in both GOG Galaxy, and in my own DOSBOX 0.74-3 (Latest release from June 2019), but neither seem to resolve the issue. I've attempted to configure the various cpu core, cpu type, and cycles at various combinations with fixed 70000, fixed 100000, dynamic, etc.

I even attempted to download the game on my girlfriend's computer and ran into the same issue.
I've spent about 2 full days trying to research how to resolve this and have had to raise the white-flag for help. If anyone knows, please advise. I did NOT run into this issue in the recent past. I'm not sure if there was a recent GOG update that has caused this issue.
