Just small tips for those who likes to experiment or because of nostalgia would like to use Ultrasound’s midi playing WC3.

After you properly install GUS under DOSBox (for default gog path ULTRASND catalog should be located in \gog.com\Wing Commander 3\) and configure game (wc3 –i) – you start game by running WC3GRAV.bat. This file is located inside DATA.DAT image.

For this specific game do NOT use ProLite patches as they sound odd (sth is wrong with drums) – instead switch to default GUS patches.
As for digital effects it is better to set SB16 than GUS – quality is noticeably better with Sound Blaster.
