A bit late but ScummVM has added support for AGS games in their latest nightlies. So Linux support will arrive, even if ot's not from GOG :)
I play it with CrossOver with no issues. So you should maybe try wine.
The game indeed looks cool and has interesting mechanics.
Native Linux AGS has been available for years; I used to exclusively used that to run AGS games, even if gog doesn't bother packaging the game for Linux. The only change is that since Scummvm 2.5.0, I no longer use native Linux AGS, but native Linux scummvm instead. For example:

scummvm -p /usr/local/games/scummvm/Whispers\ of\ a\ Machine whispersofamachinewhispersofamachine

While I do normally do the install using wine, rather than using innoextract, I definitely recommend against running any game with available open source Linux engine on wine. At best, your distro may already package that engine, and at worst, you can just download the source and compile it yourself.
Indeed i tried it in my Devuan distro and i load it into ScummVM 2.5
Came here to check. Good news it works on linux. I'll pull the trigger and buy then. Thanks all
