MikeMaximus: I hit the final straw last night when an old bug occured on me in combat yet again, which is the screen locking on the grid, but the background scrolls. I had this happen many times playing through the original game, pretty much have to reload your save any time it happens
That happened from time to time with me too in the original game. Sometimes it would sort itself out if you could still fire at enemies, but if they were offscreen there was nothing you could do. I was in contact with their support about it at the time, and they said they were aware of it, but that it was really difficult to track down because of the random fashion of it, and how rarely it happened.

Will wait a while too before playing this game (can't now anyway due to a showstopper). Hopefully it will be in a decent state after a few patches.

taiyoukage: i am well into the AG center questline since the crashes started happening, what hotfix if you don't mind me asking ?

oldirtydufty: There is a hotfix available. U can download it or use gog galaxy to patch automatically... but the patch addresses mainly camera zoom problems.

I have the same crash to desktop... sometimes after 10 mins sometimes later... but it has surely something to do with the menus (map, inventory, Radio...)

HW: Intel Core i5 4570, AMD R9 280X 3GB, 8 GB Ram

Since we all have these crashes on Windows10.... did somebody try the Linux Version of W2:DC ?
I'm trying to run the Linux Version, so far with no success. Crashes every time I try to begin the Game.
I'll be posting on this threat:

EDIT: found a workaround. It works now.

As I posted elsewhere, all my problems with the DC ceased when I began using the simple -force-d3d12 switch in the game's startup shortcut--I'm running Win10x64 build 10565, AMD R9 380, Catalysts 15.10b. I played for 5 hours today without a single crash--which makes a total ~25 hours straight I've played the game over the last few days without a single crash. Forcing the game to run in d3d12 mode even appears to have fixed the so-called Unity-engine "memory leak"--after five hours tonight the game was using 1.6GB's in ram. (And with soft shadows fully enabled in the game.)

Tried running the game in it's native D3d11 mode (using no switch in the shortcut) and the game promptly crashed to desktop after 40 minutes of play. Without a doubt the d3d12 forced switch alters the way the game is rendered...! I also tried D3d9 mode forced as well, but found it to be noticeably slower (choppy at times) than the d3d11 or d3d12 mode--but the d3d12 mode is the only one that allows me to play the game with complete stability.

Interesting....!

thank's,it's usefull to me.
The game crashes for me at startup now. I have a pretty old system though, so I'm wondering if the DC has higher minimum requirements than the original version had. I have a NVIDIA 9600GT, which handled the original version of the game just fine but appears to be below the DC version minimum requirements. I can't find what they were for the original though. Does anyone know if those changed?
Do you have a 32 bit PC? If so, check the threads.
