I'm still playing Wasteland 2 (the base game), and now with the release of the Director's Cut version, can I import or transfer my base game saves to the DC version?
Nope, they are separted. InXIle already said that due the differences the saves are not compatible.

Correct. Old saves cannot be used in the new version of the game.
Before I knew about this I tried moving my saves to the Director's Cut folder and they don't work.
So I came here and read about the dev's statements.
Pitty, I'm half-way through... too late to start a new campaign and too early to wait before finishing the base game to start a new game.
:(

There are too many changes for old saves to work - quirks and perks for instance - but you may be better off to just play the original game at this point anyway, considering there are some bugs with the DC that I hope they will fix asap.

Yep, that is what I decided. I thought about the new bugs and the re-treading of all the harsh terrain already covered (mmm... that bit sounded pretty post-apocalyptic actually) and it was the sensible thing to do. Finish what I started and then as a second play-through just do the Director's Cut.
Well, back to the irradiated wasteland to carry on my duties.
