I'm away from home for a few months and only have my laptop. It's got an i3 processor and Intel HD Graphics, so I was wondering if it could run Wasteland 2 at all, or if I should just wait until I get home in a few months?

The game's playable on my laptop, and its not top notch (i7 1.6ghz, 6gb ram, 512mb graphics card).
[It's doesn't run super smoothly, but considering the nature of the game - reading dialogues, turn based battles etc - its good enough for me.]

So it depends how much memory does this card have (and if it shares laptops ram, then if it has 4gb, it should be OK).

That's pretty much all I can tell you.

If you have ~ 512mb for graphics total, and a better processor than myself, then it should be playable.

The game's not that demanding, the posted system requirements have always have a margin for 'error', in this case it actually is favorable, as the actual requiements are a little bit lower (so if you meet official minimum requiements, you'll propably be better off than me).

Thanks! I'll give it a try then. And if it doesn't work, I'll be back at home with my desktop by thanksgiving anyway.

Hi all, I could use some assistance. I have an older laptop, and while I can start Wasteland 2 and get through character creation just fine, as soon as I try to play the game it crashes. I've tried putting display settings to the lowest possible along with windowed mode but it doesn't seem to matter. Here are my main system specs pulled from dxdiag:

System Information
------------------
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA
System Model: Satellite A505
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode

---------------
Display Devices
---------------
Card name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
Display Memory: 2809 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1018 MB
Shared Memory: 1790 MB

I have a feeling it's because I don't have 4gb dedicated VRAM. If so are there any workarounds? I really wanted to support this game but find it frustrating that a game with an isometric top down view like the old fallouts crashes, whereas I can play the Witcher 2 just fine. Keep in mind that I would've asked GoG.com about this but when I attempt to submit a ticket on technical stuff, it just loops me back to the community fix page. I guess after the 3rd time I got the hint that GoG doesn't deal with the technical side of things. Any help or advice would be extremely appreciated.

Check if you have a recent version of the graphics drivers. If that doesn't work, try deactivating the shared graphics memory in the bios setup. Maybe it's eating your system memory.

See my response in the Known Issues about making the game run with an earlier version of Direct X. I had the same problem as you.
Many thanks to Skullbone for alerting me to the solution to my problem! After reading "Known Issues" thread in the forums about the Direct X version 11 it seems my issue was this:

Frequent crashes on Windows (this info was posted by Sear, an InXile Dev...many thanks to the Developers of this game for keeping tabs on the feedback of its customers. It is greatly appreciated!)

"These often appear to be related to our new DirectX 11 renderer, which was not in the beta release. Forcing DirectX 9 mode may improve game stability for you if you are affected."

(This info below posted by Skullbone...many thanks!)

"I got the Direct X fix to run the game here is what you have to do and the exact location to past "-force-d3d9" minus the quotation marks."

*Right click on your Wasteland 2 Shortcut

*click on Properties

*In the Target text box under the tab 'Shortcut' paste in at the end of the command, -force-d3d9
Example: "C:\GOG Games\Wasteland 2\WL2.exe" -force-d3d9
Make sure you leave a space in between the Quotation mark and the pasted command

Click Apply and allow to change as admin then click ok

This got it to run for me
