1) I don't know who came up with the change in DC that you can't pick up an unconscious companion's belongings. Ignoring the fact that it's absurd, it also ruins the game when the unconscious one has all the reanimation kits!

2) Avatars and voices don't match the characters! The Chinese guy is white, the 60-year-old has the voice of a 20-year-old. It ruins the game's reception a lot. In addition, the avatars keep repeating themselves!

3) No way to escape from combat. Another idea that ruins the game and forces you to load whenever you come across better players than you.

4) Arizona is boring. There's no better plot development there. It's a shame the game is divided into two maps. Pointless perks and items regarding water consumption that don't matter in California anymore.

5) The mighty gates of the bastion are opened... with a kick. In addition, there are no animations. It is really impossible to fix these bugs so many years after the premiere. (screen)

I'm halfway through the game.

Man, don't try the latest difficulty setting on the DC . You need A LOT of luck for not getting anyone killed on fights with snipers. I did it once, and never again.

Personally, I loved more Arizona than the other half of the game. But, then Arizona is following what Wasteland 1 established. This in part helps to examplifies why California is so different for the rangers. But, as you stated, it is also make useless the water mechanic for half of the game.

P.s. I never noticed the problem with the default characters!
1) Never played the original so I can't compare them, but yes... That's why I have everyone have at least one kit of their own (also in case I need to heal and they're spread out, they each keep some healing items).

2) Created a 4 player squad and only added two NPCs so no idea regarding this.

3) Completely agree.

4) Loved Arizona. Hated California. Arizona was more open ended but not open world (hate open worlds) and the ambience with the radio was better in Arizona with the whole robots rising being more ominous.

5) Don't even remember that part, but quirks of the old Fallout engine where like that as well so maybe I didn't notice because I was expecting things like that?

Added:
6) The damn camera!

2) Created a 4 player squad and only added two NPCs so no idea regarding this.
I'm talking about the NPCs we meet in the game. There are basically about 10 avatars that keep repeating themselves and ruining the game's atmosphere.

I remember hearing about Jill Yates, a "handsome black woman" according to the text, but her portrait originally showed her as white. They did, however, fix that in a patch by giving her a new, more appropriate, portrait.

(Does Wasteland Remastered do any better with portraits of non-White characters? I'm pretty sure you can make Chinese characters, and I remember a Native American village in there.)

Oh, I thought you were talking about joinable NPCs. Never really focused on the avatars after I saw they were repeating, the same as in Neverwinter Nights for instance... So never really look at them. Just focused in reading and voices. Yes, some voices are the same, but never encountered the same one too close to the last one. Annoying, yes, but nothing gamebreaking for me at least. I always played with the camera zoomed out as far as possible so no worries about immersion in my case. I'm playing a digital "board" game, not exploring the wastelands.
