Warlords 3 has cinematics yet whenever I play they don't come up at least in the Horn of Kor campaign.

Same here. No cinematics.
I'm also receiving a "low memory" message every time I start the game, which belive me isn't the case.
But the most annoying thing is the music.
Each track starts with the first few seconds clipped, and once one track has finished, the next starts up only to stop and have the previous track play all over again.
Hello! How do I play online with other players?

About the music the problem seems to be a poorly ogg/mp3 edition of the original CD tracks. In a different thread an user offered a link with a different track edition that could solve it making them not clip or jump. But sadly the link seems to be down.

About the low memory message, forget it, t is a legacy windows 98/95 compatibility message but the game is not affected in any way during gameplay

And about the cinematis it was a topic commented time ago. If you are reffering to the little movies where the warlord speaks from time to time, they were cinematics that played during the original campaign, in the original game Reign of Heroes.
Darklords Rising was an standalone title that expanded the original game adding new campaigns and of course the original one. But apparently Darklords Rising does not play the cinematics when you are running the original Reign of Heroes Campaign.
It is not really a bug, but it was in that way originally. But as a note, apparently those movies are physically present into the original campaign folder but they are not used at all, though.

Greetings.

If I am not mistaken they are a little scipted movies played in some stances during the original Reign of Heroes.campaign. They should be under the BANESDEM folder into the main Warlords 3 game folder
That's sad. I only played original Warlords 3 in the 90s and I remember the cheesy FMVs with nostalgia. Just popped in the forums for an answer to the same question.

I also wonder if the music for DKR is changed from the original, because I don't remember any of it.

Unfortunetely my VLC media player only plays the audio (I guess I'm missing some codec) and youtube only has the intro :( So it will take some effort to get them running.

I just came here to find out about the same thing. That's so disappointing! I remember those cheesy cinematics so well after all those years. I don't suppose there is a way to re-enable them? The lack of variety in music is also quite jarring as opposed to the original...
Will the cinematics problem ever be fixed?
As other poster explained: Reign of Heroes and Darklord Raising are two different releases. I had disc versions of both and there were cinematics in RoH but not in DR. Moreover, the soundtrack of the two releases were different.

I wish GoG could make RoH also available and I would gladly purchases it as a standalone release despite already having paid for DR. However, this seems unlikely.
i don't know if this is useful information, but the cd version of RoH works fine on my WIN10. cd music works flawlessly and all cinematics are there. so if you still have your RoH cd-rom you should be good to go.

in case you have problems installing and running RoH:

if setup.exe refuses to launch you can try downloading otvdm. it will enable you to execute 16bit applications on newer machines. i use otvdm-v0.8.0

if setup stops or freezes at any time, there may be another process causing problems. in that case:
- don't cancel the setup.
- open task manager
- go to details
- look for the name "_INS0432._MP" or the description "InstallShield Engine EXE" and right click on it
- choose "analyse wait chain"
- check any process that is listed below "_INS0432._MP" and click "end process"
setup should now continue.

once setup is complete i would recommend downloading and installing the 1.02 patch. (you can get it at sites like patches-scrolls.de) then just add the "-wincursor" command to your RoH shortcut to prevent ingame freezes.

that's how i did it.

Today I have discovered something but I am not sure.

I have restarted the Bane campaign an I was surprised to see FMV videos when you win the scenarios. I do not remember them in this release before. They are not the warlords talking heads we was treating above, but proper win/lose FMV videos between scenarios.

Then I remembered that a month ago I was messing with files in the main folder. I copied the SMK files inside three folders and pasted them into the main campaign folder, under their respective same name campaign subfolders, They are three folders called Banervg, draco... Etc,

The matter is that I am not sure If is that what let me watch the videos. Too lazy to reinstall to be sure. Now everything works fine to mess with it

Anyone can test it to be sure? Thanks
Have tried Gudadantza's thing myself just now for the BANESDEM folder and it does work. Haven't tested BANEREVG or DRAKDUM but if it can still play video at all those shouldn't cause problems.

From the amount of files though, I think it's only victory cinematics. Failure just gives you text.

Weird that there's movies for the Bane's Revenge campaign though. I'm not very familiar with the differences between ROH and DLR but isn't that an expansion campaign?
