Hello everyone.

I'm hoping you guys can help me. Years ago in my teenage years, I played a Warlords: Battlecry game with my uncle. It was a fantastic game, but I only remember a few things from it. I'm trying to figure out which game in the series I played. Here is what I know about it:

I played in "hardcore" mode, which meant that one death and your character was gone forever.
My character was an undead, I believe a skeletal necromancer, but I could be wrong. He was definitely undead, though.
He had a vampiric ability that caused every hit of his weapon to siphon health into him, making him virtually unstoppable.
I also had a very high attack speed that I continued to pour points into when I leveled up.
There were skirmish modes against the CPU that you could play, and on the maps you could find chests with loot in them, and then level up your skills against the CPU.
I believe there was a demon race, with a powerful unit called Reavers. If I recall they were a reddish color.

That's all I remember, other than it being a very great and engrossing game. Can anyone tell me what game I played from these details?

One last thing, the undead race may have been a bonus race. It may have been the first time in the series that undead were added, I'm not sure exactly.

Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

I have only played 3, but it has an "Ironman" mode that is exactly as you describe. If you want, you can go youtube and look for "Let's Play Warlords Battlecry" and "Let's Play Warlord's Battlecry 2" and "Let's Play Warlords Battlecry 3." You might be able to recognize your game from the graphics.
Thanks for the tip but it's been so long I honestly can't remember what it looks like. It might be Battlecry 2 but I'm not sure.
That really sounds like WBC2. The attack speed you mentioned is what is making me believe that. In WBC3, it's fairly difficult to make your hero have a very fast attack speed outside of the campaign, where in WBC2, your attack speed is based on your hero's speed stat, so it was easier to raise.

Thanks, man! I remember raising the Speed stat like crazy, and my hero attacked so fast, while at the same time sucking life out of his enemies into his own, making him nearly invincible.

I will check out the 2nd game and see if that was the one I'm thinking of. Thanks again!
