WBC3 is as terrific and addictive now as it was when it came out. I've been a huge fan of the series since the turn based ones first hit the shelves in the mid '90s and this one is no exception. A truly great buy
I never played it. So why?

Its looks like a typical RTS in the 90s with little or no strategy. Just units and races.

What am i missing? Im curious to buy this. Might say im buy curious.

It carried on from WBC 2 in being the best hero driven strategy. Your hero is so vital that you have to both use the benefits while protecting the loss. Coupled with that, the game is very well balanced, and easily understood. Mostly it's the heros thing, you want to protect your main chap/chapette, however if you don't use them you will lose. The first game was brilliant in sending you down the path of darkness, and watching your hero fall to destruction. Unfortunately that's not on GOG.
I played through the first two I can't remember if I ever really beat all of the 2nd one, I have WBC3 from gog and i love it the variety of races for your heroes and armies is immense and the variety of classes and amazing amount of different strategies to play with and try out make it all worth while.
