Decided to buy WSHOTR today for some nostalgia and installed it into my external hard drive but i always get the 'wing32.dll not found' error all the time. I even tried installing in the default GOG folder and its the same issue.

How do i fix this?

The description on GOG says its Windows10 compatable but everything is telling me its not "out of the box" ready whatsoever.

Did you try to run the "WHSHR.EXE" in a Win95 compatibility mode? It's a good place to start, you may also try the Win 10 compatibility tool from the same menu, it sometimes helps.
I found the wing32.dll file over at dll-files.com. Just put it inside the game folder.

But now the game is asking for rlddf.dll and I can't find this one anywhere.
For testing you can try making an exclusion to the firewall or antivirus to allow the game folder etc.

Maybe Windows is blocking some files from being copied successfully.
You are not alone...

Win 10, Game will not launch Wing32.dll not found etc... tried compatability in various ways no effect...
Even tried it on my XPsp3 laptop which usually runs old games with no problem as its a clean install, but all I got was something similar to your second error message...
see https://www.gog.com/forum/warhammer_shadow_of_the_horned_rat/the_postinstall_script_is_broken_causing_dlls_to_not_be_copied_and_the_game_wont_launch/page1

this new update broke the installer, which automatically installs the DLL's needed to make it run.
I had the same problem installing the game from the executable, but i've tried to install it form galaxy and... bingo!
Before we begin on why you shouldn't download Dynamic Link Library (DLL) records from the Internet, how about we first investigate what DLL documents are. A DLL document is a library that contains a bunch of code and information for completing a specific movement in Windows. Applications would then be able to approach those DLL documents when they need that action performed. DLL documents are a ton like executable (EXE) records, then again, actually DLL records can't be straightforwardly executed in Windows. As such, you can't double tap a DLL record to run it the same way you would an EXE document. All things considered, DLL records are intended to be called upon by other applications. Truth be told, they are intended to be called upon by different applications on the double. The "connect" a piece of the DLL name additionally proposes another significant angle. Numerous DLLs can be connected together so when one DLL is called, various other DLLs are additionally called simultaneously.

You can find both the files wing32.dll file and rlddf.dll file from pcpatchedup.com.

Do not download any dlls. Fix games in proper way. Those dlls should be copied during installation, so something on your machines prevent it. Fix that. Fjrst is reinstall game for GOG version and verify for GOG Galaxy (not reinstall!!!).
Ofc for Galaxy and games should be path X/Games/., not on system drive at all. No Program Fjles. Reinstalling and verify will not work for sysgem folders. Reinstall Galaxy to D/Games/GOG/.
This error was happening back when the offline installer was busted and not copying dll files correctly. It has been fixed a long time ago.

Forgive the gravedig, but it was relevant to me at this time - Long story short, on my end, this does not appear to be true especially when installing on a system other than Windows 10 with the current iteration of the offline installer. This made the use of the innoextract tool a necessity, so it still stands.
