Oh yeah sorry I have the CD version, I don't know how I mixed that up

They really should put it out on GOG though!

Now that Mark of Chaos is on GOG I have the same problem. A splash screen pops up briefly and then it crashes. I'm on Win 10.
When the game freezes, don't kill the process. Open the task manager and go to the "Details" tab. Scroll down to the EXE, right click it and click "Analyze wait chain". A window will pop up with the culprit that's causing the game to stop. I'm on Windows 10, and I don't remember if older task managers have the same option, but this is what I did.

Same here. I've tried running as administrator and no change. I click play, splash screen starts, then disappears and the play button becomes available again.

@planewalker_dk I tried that just now but i'm not seeing that option EDIT: never mind, i was able to do that but the message just says "Warhammer.exe is running normally"

ca not launch game... bought mark of chaos and when i click the gog exe it will not load (the hammer thing appears for a few seconds then the loading stops.

running windows 7 64 on a toshiba laptop... the game worked with the pirated version... granted the world map was garbage and the units had no portraits... but it did load !!!).

until the issue is fixed i will reinstall the pirated version... don't think they tested this properly at release at all !!!
Same problem here. Cannot play the game, the loading starts for like 3 seconds then it stops working and it starts to synchronize with cloud. And like this nonestop.
Just bought it because it was on sale, ran it in compatability mode, administrator mode, uninstalled/reinstalled twice, unblocked it from my Comodo, removed Full Screen Optimizations, etc etc and still it force closes whenever you try and start it. GoG you are better than this...

hi guys i think i found a solution, if you go to your nvedia control panel and set global settings to "High proformance nvedia
processor it worked for me.

let me know if you guys still have trouble
Same problem, and unfortunately there does not appear to be a fix as of yet. @GOG, what kind of testing was done prior to release, this seems like a pretty significant issue if a sold game is unplayable.
Hey guys try this (info from gog technical issues, I can't link this site):

Disabling Windows 10 Game DVR.
Disabling Windows 10 Game DVR might help with stability issues. In order to do that, please:

Windows 10 with Creators update.

- Click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner.

- Click on the cogwheel icon on the left.

- While in Settings, please navigate to: Gaming - > Game Bar.

- Look for the option that says: "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar".

- Move slider from on to off.

- After that, please navigate to: Settings -> Gaming -> Game DVR and ensure that the “Record in the background while I’m playing a game” option here is set to: “Off”.

Windows 10 pre-Creators update.

- Open Xbox app(in order to do that, please click on search tab and type: Xbox).

- Please click on the cogwheel icon on the left side.

- Click on 'Game DVR'.

- Look for option that says: "Record game clips and screenshots using game DVR".

- Move slider from on to off.
