This game really doesn't play well with background applications.
No, it does not. Thus, the most common advice when having trouble playing the game is to turn off ALL background programs. Even things like cloud storage, dropbox etc. In many cases that makes the game playable.

You play this without keyboard?! O.O
This is nearly unplayable without... Hope that one day, I can use my keyboard to play this diamond

I just got it to run using 8bit colors and Windows XP compatibility under Windows 10. Was able to load a battle.

I remember that the first time I tried I needed to shutdown Oultook (dont remember which version) for it to actually boot. Odd game.

Yes, works perfectly. Has since it was first loaded up to GOG.

Maybe the Malkavian in you isn't receiving the correct reality.
That being said I really didnt have any issue when I first tried to run it at all strange that there is so much trouble.
