Does anybody understand what this means ?
After that message comes "failed to intialize video card"

I use win7 in case this helps.

Sry but I did just find nothing helpful until now.

Per the system requirements as stated on GOG and Steam, the game requires Windows 10 as a minimum. The missing dll file is likely because you are using a now 5 years end of life Windows OS. To get this game working on your system and to avoid huge security risks in general, you honestly have no choice but to upgrade for free to Windows 10 for now.

As mrtnptrs stated your system is not supported anymore, but if you can't change to Windows 10 or higher anytime soon, you could try to install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable version for Windows 7. I guess you have the 64 bit Version of Windows 7, so download the X64 Version from here:

If you don't have 64 bit Windows use X86.

If this still doesn 't help try downloading the missing .dll file from here and put in in your DoW DE game folder where the .exe of DoW is located. Again use the 64 bit Verion if you use W7 64 bit, otherwise use the 32 bit Version.

There's no good reason why this shouldn't work on Win7 - They haven't made any significant changes to the game, just recompiled it as a 64-bit executable. It should theoretically work even in Windows XP 64-bit

I was finally forced to move to Windows 10 and still absolutely hate it so I can appreciate you wanting to stick with Windows 7!

First thanks for your kind and understanding words.
I can tell that, with the nice advice from mighty Lord LANbart ^^, it was no problem at all to start the game and cause I followed exactly his steps the game works fantastic.
So for all desperated win7 users out there: It works.

So I have another system running with win10. But its not for games just for work stuff.
And yes I totally understand your hate.
And for sure my dearest game- machine will stay with win7 forever.
