I use 64 bit version of the game.
Do you think it's good idea to test 32-bit?

If this help, I do that and inform you.
But maybe no sense.
No joy here with the latest patch. Think I have been more than patient. Asking for a refund.
Can't even do that because I play on a non-internet computer so can't send a report. Wasted time and money.
It seems that in order for the skirmish menu to load and the lobby to appear the game needs to be online. Just tested this on a complete version of the game (all expansions), latest build 2.0.4, x64 win7, no galaxy.

If the game is stared offline skirmish menu does not show, go online menu loads normally and the maps lobby appears. Hmmm quite strange.

Thanks for the info. Another scam to force the player online. Don't do steam for that reason. Obsolete and evasive drm.

DJM.553: Hi Lee,

Thank you for your reply.
I appreciate that you find my request normal.

Are you able to fix the problem for the next patch?
If so, I will wait before asking for a refund.

Cordially.

Noontide13: Unfortunately I am unable to provide a timeline on when a fix might occur. We're not sure why this seems to only some GOG users and why it seems limited to a few particular menus. We're still working with our partners to try and work that out.

Out of curiosity did you ever give the game a shot on Galaxy? I realise you were using the offline versions but it's possible the issue itself is limited to only those version of the game and Galaxy is exempt as well. Worth giving a quick look into and would give us a little extra information.

Cheers,

Lee
Hi,
I have found an alternitve solution to skirmish not working as it did not work for me either when i was disconnected from the internet.

Go to multiplayer, host a LAN match, fill slots with AI players. I tested this just before coming to the forum and it works as a normal skirmish match does.

Thanks for the info. Will give it a try!
Thank you for the additional information. We are still investigating this issue but it is slow going. We're not sure what is causing this issue and why it is isolated only to offline versions on GOG. There's nothing particularly special about the Skirmish menu as it does not require any form of online connectivity in any version of the game.

It's doubly confusing as the menu is functionally identical the Multiplayer menu which works correctly. I can assure you that there is no effort to force users to go online at any point. Whatever is happening it's certainly not malicious :)

I've highlighted this issue once again to our QA Analyst with the new information and we'll see if we can't poke around some more and finally identify the cause.

Sorry for the inconvenience to those affected.
Hi Guys,

Pleased to report that this issue should be resolved in the next patch. We're expecting to release it next week so keep your eyes peeled!

Cheers,

Lee
Patch 2.0.5 has been uploaded to GOG today. It should be available on Galaxy immediately and with installer versions in the next couple of days.
Works fine now.
Thanks.
