I'm running Windows 10 x64 and the game crashes whenever I try to change the resolution. Did some googling to try to use the "prop file changer" with no such luck because the resolution data is not stored inside the "prop file"

Found a solution on how to play the game in 4k60.

Switch to Linux.

No joke, running Manjaro on my couch PC with Lutris allowed me to easily install this and change the resolution to 4k and enjoy a super smooth 4k60.

For those wanting Xbox One controller support, install "xow" and it should detect your controller easily.

The prefs.prop file does not have the resolution setting in it until you've opened the program and changed the resolution setting at least once. The problem I had was on my laptop all the other resolution settings were unable to be selected so I couldn't edit it. I needed the game to be set to 1366x768 on my laptop. What I ended up doing was installing the game on my desktop which has a 1920x1080 display and then changing it down to 1366x768. I then copied the prefs.prop file over to my laptop and placing it in the Documents\Telltale Games\Wallace and Gromit's Episode 1 - Fright of the Bumblebees folder and was able to then run the game at the correct resolution.
