I'm pleased to announce that version 2.2 of VVVVVV is out today!
This version adds steam achievements and fixes a number of small bugs from the previous steam version. Enjoy!

It seems it also brought player level maps and various player level scripting improvements as done
for the 3DS version - and it introduced Gamepad support!

Type: Major Update

Hey everyone! I am super proud to announce VVVVVV 2.3, the first major update to the game in seven years!

This release was made possible as a direct result of making the game's source code available last year,
and accepting contributions from the community. It's the result of nearly 2000 commits to the codebase,
fixing hundreds of small bugs and making the game run at its best on modern computers.
A really big thanks to all of our contributors for helping to make this happen - especially Ethan Lee and
especially especially InfoTeddy, who contributed the vast majority of the fixes to this version.

I'll link the complete changelog below, but the highlights are:
   o 60+ FPS support
   o Improved graphical options
   o New features in the editor
   o Hundreds of bug fixes

On GOG Offline Installer (03.|10.|14.09.2021):
   o Lin:   2.2 => 2.3.1 (49714) => 2.3.3 (49841) => 2.3.4 (49985)

# JMB: Note that before 2.3 there were 32 bit and 64 bit binaries, while now it is pure 64 bit.
#          This should be OK - it is 2021+ - and if so desired source code is there and can be compiled for ancient HW!


A batch of fixes while 2.4 work continues:
   o Fix achievements regarding total deaths in one playthrough
   o Fix winning in No Death Mode saying "One trinkets"
   o Fix a glitch where someone's name was rendered incorrectly in the credits
   o Removed a trailing space at the end of the "Press to Teleport" dialog
   o The Elephant is now stitched correctly
   o Fix a regression for 'destroy(platforms)'
   o hardreset now resets ingame_titlemode
   o Fix in-game timer going away after playing Super Gravitron
   o Added centiseconds to timer overlays
   o Added outline support to text that previously didn't have it
   o Fix warp sprites of big sprites sometimes not being drawn

Looks like a patch that was backported wasn't the whole patch ...
so one last thing before the holiday panic starts!

   o Fix a regression from the hardreset fix in 2.3.5
   o Add some error checking to the image loader
