Hi,

I just purchased VL last night and only this morning got around to toying with it.

I installed it, set all of the video settings to HIGH (my video card is GTX 660 by the way), then clicked on "start new game", was asked to confirm whether or not I want to start a new game and when I clicked on YES (or "start new game", I don't remember what the prompt said exactly) the game simply crashed.

Then I loaded the game again, change the video settings to MEDIUM and tried to start again but it crashed again.

So, naturally, now I am waiting for solutions cause I can't think of any fix for this.

Also, see the 3 attached images for screenshots of the crash error

John

EDIT: I added the executable file as exception in MalwareBytes but I still can't launch the game.

Hey, monere!

Could you please post your HW and OS details? Please note that currently, VL only works on Windows 8 and higher. We will do our best to fix the problem and make the game run on Windows 7 again, but that'll take some time, unfortunately. :(
well, that must be it then! I am using Windows 7, so that's the problem most likely :(

Anyway, here it is...

Mo-Bo: Gigabyte H97M-D3H
HDD: Seagate SSHD (it's SSD-HDD hybrid or something) - 1 TB
Video: Nvidia GTX 660
CPU: i3-4360 - 3,70 GHz
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 Dual Channel
OS: Win 7 Ultimate x64

And that's about it, I think.... If I omitted something let me know.

Also, may I get a rough estimate of when the game will be playable on Win 7? Like 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, etc? Just a rough estimate so I can get an idea
The game is crashing at startup since the last update. That is the very wrong kind of update.

I hope we'll get to that these days, so all in all, it should be tackled within weeks, not months or a year.

Could you please provide more information? The game worked fine until the patch, and it simply crashes right before anything initializes, or do you at least get to the first logo screen?

Ideally zip the Vaporum Lockdown\User folder and send it over (it contains logs where we might see the problem).

Thank you!

cool! I'll keep an eye on this thread for updates in case you decide to post here when the fix is ready.

The first splash screen shows up (with the Unity marking), then fades to black, then hangs with the blue loader cursor, then the pop-up shows up saying the program stopped working. When launched a second time, the game runs fine. The bug doesn't occur anymore since I disabled the gog overlay thought.

I have the same problem for Vaporum and Vaporum Lockdown. The Unity splash screen shows up, fades to black and showes the blue circle. Than the program exits with no message. I got one crah log folder.

I am running it on a GPD Win Max. (Fun fact it works on a GPD Win 2 which is less powerful than the MAX)

Thats in the gamelog.ini

Hey, emek!

Thank you for sending the logs to us. We took a look. The problem seems to be with the engine itself. We have no control over that, other than upgrading to a newer version and hoping the bug might be fixed there. But because we are currently in the middle of porting the game to other consoles, we can't afford to make the transition. Additionally, we don't have GPD Win Max so there would still be no way for us to test it properly, so a patch would be a wild guess at best.

Do I understand it correctly that you also own a GPD Win 2 and it works fine there? For the time being, can you play the game on that?
Yes it runs on my GPD Win 2, although with slow performance. The GPD Win 2 has an Intel 615 GPU. But i also have a Desktop PC with enough power. Mobile gameing is currently not nescessary due to lockdown :D
Hello,

I'd like to not start new topic, as this is about similar issue.

I've bought Vaporum:Lockdown yesterday and I have following problem. When launched Vaporum + Unity splash screen appears, next is black screen with Windows blue circle cursor and at the end the screen turns totally black and nothing happens. Also no crash log is created.

I've tried to reinstall V:L, also all drivers are up to date.

Hardware spec:
Windows 10 Pro N
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 940MX 2GB VRAM

Thanks in advance for help

Hi Ephyrus,

Did you manage solve this problem or is the game still crashing for you?
