So, this is confirmed gone on GOG as well as Steam?

All I know is that is was in the Linux version on GOG and is gone in the latest one.
I still have patch (e.g. release number) 6, 8, 9 and 10 and if you really like I can check in which of these versions it is present.
In patch 10 from 2018-06-13 it seems to be gone (RedShellSDK.dll no longer present).

Yes it's gone. We're always shipping basically the same version of the game, only with the GOG Galaxy client implementation for the GOG platform instead of the Steam client.
