I have beaten the 9.7 basic patch, i am midway to finishing the Plus patch as well (trying it for the first time) and i would really like to test the True Patch, next...

Can i apply it over GOG version, or do i need to start "excavations" for digging up my ancient, box retail edition of bloodlines? I am asking, because a mod here, sometime ago, gave to us (bloodlines gamers) a tool to convert gog version into the old, basic game. Can i use that and install the True Patch right over, or will i have things breaking?

You can just install it over the main game, but you need to remove the "-game Unofficial_Patch" line from inside the game shortcut...

Many thanks, once again!

Would you happen to have a link to that tool?

https://www.gog.com/forum/vampire_the_masquerade_series/vote_for_a_vanilla_v12_build_of_vtm_bloodlines/page1

But of course! Page 1, post of GOG-mod named "Thiev"!

Take care, though, this does revert the game to 1.2 version, but:
a. With DRM
b. Without widescreen support
c. Without any unofficial patch or any other mod's fixes

Even if you tamper with settings often mentioned in various Steam guides for Bloodlines, unless you have an old system with winXP and hardware near Bloodlines' era, it is highly likely that the game will refuse to launch, run, run properly, or any combination of those. Especially if you have 64 bit windows and double-core processor.

Also, if you enable histories in vanilla 1.2, they are different from those of the unofficial patch.

Thank you very much. I fully plan on using the latest Plus version of the patch, therefore making the basic version unneeded. There should really be an option in the installer to not install it for those of us who want to use the Plus version.

The GOG version already installs the original 1.2 game and only adds the Unofficial Patch using it's subfolder, like it is supposed to be. So you can install any other patch or mod on top of it as you like!

Hey, long time no see!

Yes, I know your newer patches use the sub folder system- which is very smart I think. But since I don't ever intend to play the Basic version it's just superfluous for me. I wouldn't have thought anything about removing it but then I saw there was a command file to do it and I like to keep my computer as tidy as possible.

Thanks for creating such an amazing patch for this game, your work is greatly appreciated!

If you install the plus patch it will go into the same subfolder and just overwrite the basic files or actually rather add some more and switch others via Python scripts, so there is no need to remove anything prior to installing it!
