Windows 10, Laptop with dual intergrated and nvidia cards. Installed plus patch over current gog version.

So the problem is I keep getting minor stuttering. Espcially in dialogue at the end of a paragraph and start of another. Is there a fix for this? I've tried running it in compatiblity mode 98.

Have you contacted support?

What on earth would be the point. Silly response number 2 is usually to ask them to post a dxdiag. Not because it helps, but because the clown asking for that has no answers, and they'er so large they tend to kill the thread stone cold dead.

It's a long standing problem with audio on source engine. It's so baked into the engine, that the Titanfall games shipped with essentially game breaking audio stutter. In desperation, they released them with uncompressed audio.

As far as I know you can turn off audio enhancements in the options, maybe lower sound quality, then the usual fix is to get a faster cpu, which probably isn't useful in a game as old as this.

Yeah; one of the fixes from years ago for various problems was to force the machine to run as a single core to slow it down so it could be played.
