Now that i have a go at the unofficial (since vanilla is dead and unplayable in win7 64 bit onwards), i noticed even more differences to the vanilla, than while playing the game through the "Legacy" exe. Me thinks this is not as intended, so i merely mention them, in case they just might need correction...

1) In Downtown, NPCs with Paul's frame (i take it they are anarch ghouls), attack the "Sabbat Thugs", but very frequently/regularly and they even kill peaceful NPCs, like poor bums.

2) Also, for some reason, pedestrian NPCs in the same map get randomly stuck in their place while trying to walk. Specifically, a female bum was stuck on the pedestrian pavement, just before a light pole, directly opposite from the chantry to the other end of the road.

3) The female bum you talk to for the plague-bearer quest who can either be terrorized or convinced to talk for free (or paid), is no longer around this barrel with her bum companions before Confession, they are all missing.

4) Very important, this one. After killing brother Kanker, if you accidentally fall down and you don't make the long jump, for some reason, you cannot go through the other end of the underwater structure, you get near the round hole but you cannot emerge from it.

Especially No4, if you don't have a back up save, it can cause you lots of trouble and needless time consume.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Me thinks this is not as intended, so i merely mention them, in case they just might need correction...
All of these things are features or bugs of the original game, I didn't change anything there...

1) In Downtown, NPCs with Paul's frame (i take it they are anarch ghouls), attack the "Sabbat Thugs", but very frequently/regularly and they even kill peaceful NPCs, like poor bums.
This is actually a very cool feature making the city seem alive. There are two sets of NPCs called internally Jets and Sharks that will attack each other randomly if they get too near :)!

2) Also, for some reason, pedestrian NPCs in the same map get randomly stuck in their place while trying to walk.
Typical random bug that I have noticed myself, but am not able to fix as the AI of the NPCs was hard-coded by Troika.

3) The female bum you talk to for the plague-bearer quest who can either be terrorized or convinced to talk for free (or paid), is no longer around this barrel with her bum companions before Confession, they are all missing.
I don't know exactly what you mean, but I think the female bum you refer to is near the Last Round not Club Confession.

4) Very important, this one. After killing brother Kanker, if you accidentally fall down and you don't make the long jump, for some reason, you cannot go through the other end of the underwater structure, you get near the round hole but you cannot emerge from it.
I never heard of this before. What do you mean by the long jump? The one over the dual water falls?

About 4. Yes, that one. For some reason i couldn't go through the small round hole that in vanilla you could exit that underwater room from... Don't know why. Hole was treated like a hard surface without a hole.

Also, you are correct about our previous disagreement concerning Tourette, but only for a Nosferatu; A nosteratu with zero seduction feat (poor thing cannot raise even if wanted), CAN end up with Tourette, but only through proper dialogue lines choices. For Gangrel that was my previous playthrough, though, it seemed that one point in Subterfuge to be MANDATORY, as well as the pink like during the Jeanette dialogue right after returning from hotel.

Can you attach a picture of the hole? I'm pretty sure I never edited something there.

Yes, it's easier with Seduction but you don't really need it :)!
Okay next time i go Downtown, i will go there to have a screen

I know what you mean now. I never dropped down between the waterfalls because I thought I would die :)! But when I just did, I could climb out the small hole with the ladder easily both before and after I killed Kanker. So it must have been a random glitch on your side, in which case the noclip console command helps...
Yeah. Besides that, i found a completely trivial dialogue error, while handing over to Pisha the Giovanni book. She asks what happened of the Giovanni and i could only answer the "I slipped unnoticed" line. The other one, "they made it in the endangered species list" wasn't available, even though i did slaughter them and even though in the vanilla it was selectable regardless of action course taken.

I don't know if it is a bug or not, this one, but Chinatown in 9.5 allows access to Mr Ox's shop and ramen girl's place without doing the Kikidnapped quest first; same applies to Lu Fang giving you the quest before Kikidnapped, too. But you can't complete that, at least peacefully, before returning Kiki, for some reason; Ji Wen Ja doesn't offer other dialogue options BEFORE rescuing KIKI. You might need to check on that, just in case...

About things that need to be fixed, RPG Codex user "Old One" has pointed out that:
I'll give a couple of quick examples of things changed by the UP for no apparent reason. The first time you step out of your haven in Santa Monica, there's a stuffy rich guy who is stranded because his car broke down. The UP adds a tiny compact car staged to look like it crashed into some palm trees. There's even a little trail of smoke coming from the hood. This is not an improvement over no car because, for one thing, the guy's car didn't crash, it just broke down, and for another, he's supposed to be rich so he wouldn't be driving a little wind-up toy car. It probably happened that some one figured out how to add a car to the scene, and so he did add it simply because he could.

There's also a vampire who may or may not be spying on you. In any case he vanishes from sight as soon as he sees you (using Obfuscate, presumably). This guy used to be lurking in a dark alley on the other side of Trip's Pawn Shop, but the UP moves him to the alley behind the blood bank, where he's much more noticeable. In fact, you can't miss him now because you practically run right in to him. This is also not an improvement. In fact I'd say it's worse because it used to be a nice, creepy, little touch you might have missed the first time, but you would eventually see it. Now it's in your face. It's as though the UP thinks Troika made a mistake placing the spy in the alley beyond Trip's. No they didn't.

I managed to finish the game. There's a moment near the end, just before Jack disappears from The Last Round, when you can talk to him as a Malkavian and essentially reveal his entire scheme with the sarcophagus. It disturbs him, to say the least. He implies that he would have to kill you if he thought you actually understood what you were saying.
Something you might want to take into account Wesp5. The car seems out of place (and I would expect police to be interested in this) and if it's true what he says about vanishing vampire then it's also unnecessary change IMO.

You probably didn't kill Bruno which is the current condition for this line. I'll change that for overall making trouble inside or outside and fix the other line too. No lying to Pisha ;)!

I don't know if it is a bug or not, this one, but Chinatown in 9.5 allows access to Mr Ox's shop and ramen girl's place without doing the Kikidnapped quest first;
This is intended, these stores were magically blocked off for no reason in the original game.

same applies to Lu Fang giving you the quest before Kikidnapped, too.
According to his speech file this should not be possible...
I killed Bruno but he was glitched, now that you mention it. When i depleted his life, he started sliding on floor until he fell down further ahead. His life bar also froze at empty and his aura was still on his corpse. But he was as dead as he could be, i emptied his life bar. Besides, in vanilla this line was usable even if you didn't kill anyone, but as i said, i killed every living creature in Giovanni place (zombies aside who never stop raising).

About Lu Fang, i am positive he gave me quest first time i entered Red Dragon. I clearly remember in vanilla he was drunk and insisted i came later. In 9.5 i am sure he gave me the quest immediately, though. Jin Wen Ja, as i said, doesn't offer dialogue on this quest (Hitman Impasse), though, until you free Kiki and then.

All in all not a big deal, just some small, trivial details i noticed and felt like reporting, just in case... Wonderful job with the patch, though!

First, the current car did not crash, ît doesn't touch any of the walls or the trees. Second, the guy says that he should have bought a German car so him driving a Yugo is part of the joke! Last not least, what was he doing there before with no car at all waiting for a tow truck? The only other car nearby is that of Mercurio...

Now it's in your face. It's as though the UP thinks Troika made a mistake placing the spy in the alley beyond Trip's. No they didn't.
Indeed, they didn't because I placed the guy in that alley because at first I couldn't figure out a way to trigger his dissappearing where he is right now, which is where Troika placed him. So my own solution was better, but I changed it to the place intended by Troika once I could make it happen...

KiNgBrAdLeY7: I killed Bruno but he was glitched, now that you mention it.
That could be the reason then. I changed it anyway because people could kill all others and run away from him...

About Lu Fang, i am positive he gave me quest first time i entered Red Dragon.
Hm, he can only do this when you already talked with Jin, the conditions are G.Kiki_Rescued == 1 or G.Ji_Lu > 0.

I finished the game. This game is one of the most immersive ones ever. Everything feels so alive (even though many are undead ;-) ). However some things were very frustrating:

- Characters get stuck often. Often enemies stood in a piece of junk or a slope and they could not move. I had to shoot an enemy who stands right in front of me because he could not move and I could not reach him with melee weapons. In the nosferatu hideout I got stuck myself so I had to reload.

- Doors can be annoying. Sometimes its hard to open something, especially when the door opens towards you. One time I got stuck in a closing door and I could not open it, so I had to reload.

- For the quest "attention whore" I talked to Petty in the confessions club and I convinced her to go to a dark alley. Later I went through all streets in the game and I did not find her. Ther was a girl who looked like her just outside the confessions club, but she did not talk to me and other people were nearby.

- When I was in a small alley and looked to the big street, sometimes somebody moved around with insane speed and when I went to the big street this person was walking around normally.

- Some enemies did not move when they were supposed to. In the museum there was a guard who was looking for me, but he did not find me. (I mean my stealth level got yellow so the guard saw something moving but it went green again before he could find me). For the rest of the time he stood there, pointing his gun at the place where I have been hiding. I could not finish the quest for the computer network in the theatre, because the second guard did not move and there was no way to sneak past him. In other places (like top level of santa monica hospital and bottom level of museum and the ship), when cops saw me they shoot at me from where they stand, but they do not move and follow me. In the werewolf quest, after several failes tries, I stood in one room for the entire 4 minutes and the wolf did not come for me. This time I made it to the train without problems, but this was a bug.

- In santa monica, a cop is standing partly inside the taxi.

- When I use the taxi, sometimes I use the weapon when I enter the new map and sometimes this is considered as a crime.

- This is not a bug but it felt strange: I have the quest to get the sacophargus from the museum. Lets assume a vampire is strong enough to carry the huge stone thing. How is the char supposed to sneak out past lots of guards when he carries the sacophargus through tons of doors and stairs. (Well, this "plot hole does not happen because the thing is not there). When you go to the Giovanni mansion you can kill everybody inside, so no need to sneak out when you got the sacophargus. But where does the truck come from? When you enter the building, I do not remember such a big car. Lets just say the sacophargus is very huge for a McGuffin.

There were some other bugs, maybe I remember them later. But in general this game is fantastic. I played the gog version with a brujah girl. Next I play deus ex again and I try again this game with the +patch (added content) and a malkavian.

Things deus ex could learn from vampire: I like that you have a special stealth kill animation that depends on your weapon. In DE you can defeat enemies with a single melee hit on the head when they have not seen you, but a special animation feels more rewarding.

Things this game could learn from DE: I like that you have to hide bodies of defeated enemies. Enemies will be alarmed when they find a dead ally. I know that vampires turn to dust when defeated, but it makes not much sense that other enemies disappear too and that other enemies do not care if bodies are everywhere.

Mad3: Characters get stuck often.
This and similar NPC bugs are all due to the original Troika AI which is hard-coded and which we can't fix.

There was a girl who looked like her just outside the confessions club, but she did not talk to me and other people were nearby.
That's Patty, you could have waited for the other people to leave and then deal with her.

How is the char supposed to sneak out past lots of guards when he carries the sacophargus through tons of doors and stairs
There is a nearby underground supply area in the musuem. The player could have removed the sarcophagus that way by stealing a truck!

But where does the truck come from? When you enter the building, I do not remember such a big car.
Indeed. Maybe the player could have called Mercurio to deliver the truck or something? Still there was a much bigger issue in the crypt itself before I added some blast doors: there was no way to get the thing in and out at all :)!

I like that you have to hide bodies of defeated enemies. Enemies will be alarmed when they find a dead ally.
Troika actually planned to do this as we found an icon for moving bodies. They never implemented it though!

I played the game again with the plus patch as a malkavian:
there were some minor things:

- When you enter the tower for the final battle, you run into this fat cop (sorry, name forgotten). I used persuation and said something like: "If death gives you the choice to live or die, which do you chose?" He ran away from his desk and stood in a crouch position. So far, so good. But after some seconds he went up and started shooting me so I had to kill him. If I was in his position, I would run out of the building.

- When you are at the temple at the end of this game, there is this japanese girl who wants to help you. She followed me through the first map, but she did not go to other maps. When I return, she is still standing at the door.

- In the giovanni mansion there is agirl who shows you the way to the crypt. In the first area with zombies (there is also a magic item) I had to attack the zombies, so that one zombie breaks the door from the other side. I could not find a way to open the door without attacking the zombies. When I attack the zombies, she runs back to the entrance of the crypt.
Later in this dungeon there are doors that open automatically when you get close to them. But one of them opened only automatically after I attacked the zombies.
One more thing:
I joined the anarchs and nines gave me the grenade.
I tried to use it against Ming Xiao. I selected it the inventory and pushed the left mouse button. I tried several times but I could not throw the grenade. Finally I killed her with flame thrower and assault rifle.
