Hello everyone,

As I said in the title I tried to install the game and everything seems fine, but after installation the game does not start.

First, before the release, I received a message saying that my color settings are not compatible and that I have to change to a basic one, the program does ... and then the launch "starts" and I immediately have a Error message saying that "the binkw32 dll file is incorrectly installed in the Windows or Windows system directory".

I searched the Internet and a "solution" is to put the binkw32.dlll file of the game bin folder in the windows / system32 folder and / or the main game folder. I've tried this and now the launch starts with a pass to a low extreme resolution with a totally cluttered view of the desktop, and how 10 seconds after I can hear the 3-4 presentation videos, but the screen remains in black. And finally crash.

Could someone help me with this?

What are your system specs? Do you use an on board graphic ship or something similar?

Ah! And I can put here the crash log after copy and paste binkw32.dll in System 32 and game main folder, when I could hear the first videos but with a totally black screen:

...continues for 96 modules and a final part with "stack"...

Well seems that I can't put long texts on the forum so if you need the rest of "modules" of the crash log archive (96) and the final part with "stack" simply say me.

I also bought the game yesterday. I hope I will be able to play when I get around to it.
Sorry, but pretty much nobody understands the crash reports. Better check out the sticked topics on the Steam boards for more tips in that direction.
Thanks for answer wesp5...

You know if I could uninstall your unnoficial patch (Are you the author, isn't you?) on this gog version? And later reinstall?

Because maybe is a problem with the widescreen, the "resolution patch" (part of yours?), the "permissions" etc. I really don't know but people talks about some similar on steam forums or in a rpg spanish forum, without clear solution at the moment for me, but I could liked to try the reinstallation of the patch.

A player said this on an old steam thread:

i solve it: i downloaded 7.6 unofficial patch, installed it on a different folder, then manually copy the content to game folder. after that copy from the bin folder to vampire bloodlines folder and done

I can try this too with your 9.6 version or an older one.

No need to do so. I don't know if the GOG version includes them, but the regular UP 9.6 which you can get from "The Patches Scrolls" includes all the original dlls which are named *12. Just swap the new ones out one by one and see if this helps...

Nope ... I try with the "up 9.6" on the web that you said and putting the "binkw32.dll" in the main folder and I received a new error message with "mss32.dll in the wrong directory", which "should be in the main folder", so I put there and now I can see the presentation videos perfectly, but ... when the Troika logo finish: ctd!! ...

I attached an image and marked the module with errors: "StackHash_90dd" in case its useful.

AndalucialNC: I do not know how you have VtM-Bloodlines installed, but if you have a desktop shortcut to launch the program it is set to run UP9.6. If you want to run without UP9.6 just delete "game Unoffical_Patch" from the shortcut.

The problem I am having is getting the Camarilla Edition mod to run.

I'm not sure, but could this be connected to DirectX 9.0 and 90dd means a 9.0 Direct Draw bug?
JoeAboveAverage, I installed the game "as usual", I mean, simply chose a new folder, the path hasn't special characters, etc, and I try to launch the game with and without the patch shortcut (and with the main folder exe) ... But I hadn't luck. I said this thing of "uninstall" the patches, because I read some guy that "speculate" about that the first problem (binkw32) maybe is caused by an unsuccesful try by "HD patch". I need to find this thread again.

Wesp5, when you said that in the patch I have all the original dll (with the 12), what files are you talking about specifically? Because in the patch "bin" folder I only see engine [/ i] and [i ] Shaderapidx9 [/ i] original dlls, but not the binkw32.dll or mss32 ... I assume that theese are from original Vampire installation isn't it?

I have several old games working on this laptop, from dos games to games from the same date than Vampire, I don't have idea what is the problem, but I think is very specific of VtmB...

I will try installing with gog galaxy or try different "compatibility" modes on the exes because the only (!) result that i have for google search "StackHash_90dd" is from a portuguese or brazilian forum where they pseak of this problem with VtmB and some guy said to try with every compability mode...

If it helps, here are checksums for the 2 gig setup file

mmm

Seems same checksum for my file, but I have in SHA-512:

82CD82FE111E8E4623FCD8B255F1A4EEB153DCAF7B02AC703B16DAECB3044B0D23E99365CA937AF96D89C5A968CD9A86ED5B548F2E2A1" CE"A35511B22BE8B0415

*The quotation marks are only to mark this two characters.

I don't have spaces betwen characters and your checksum JoeAboveAverage had a space between "C" and "E", where I put quotation marks, is it ok in your report or simply a copy & paste mistake?

Yes, I never touched them. Have you tried installing a standalon newer Bink version?
