I got the quest to check out the Elizabeth Dane from the Prince, and he has told me there's a boat waiting at the Santa Monica beach to take me out to the ship, which I can see off the pier. I speak to Mercurio there about weapons, etc, but when I go down to the boat I am unable to get into it. No "use" icon appears.

<SIGH> Did not occur to me until after I posted this that all I needed to do was JUMP into the boat to have it take me out to the ship. I'm at the ship now and continuing on.

I am having a problem with this quest. The zone is showing the trigger fields yellow, says trigger on them) but when i pass though, or even jump into the boat they don't trigger the load into the Elizabeth Dane. I have been between both the Prince and Nines, the dingy and Mercurio are here, I just can't seem to trigger the load into the Dane.

Any other clues? Can this be advanced by a console command?

You may have to move around in the boat. Try heading towards the motor. Despite it's age and the good patches, there are still random bugs. As for console commands, I don't know but I suspect that bipassing a trigger would stop the game from advancing.

b = Find("boat_changelevel")<ENTER>
b.ChangeNow()<ENTER>

The visible trigger usually indicates that you continued an old save after updating the patch which is not recommended. Even if you trick your way onto the Dane now, you could get stuck latter on completely...

Thanks for the help.
That is odd since I started a new game after I bought it on GOG in May of this year. I didn't think there was a new patch since then unlkess they updated 10? In trying to get around this I went ahead and got the Camarilla Edition Mod. I'm on WIndows 10 so no telling what problems that is giving me.
We'll see what happens when I get this far next time.

I'm thinking I read here (Wesp5 would know more) that GoG updated the patch on Galaxy as an automatic update so it may have happened.
