I'm having the same problem, except where your module lists something, mine says unknown. I'm a bit bummed. Please make sure you post whatever solution finally works for you, and I'll do the same, and maybe between us it will get sorted for others who follow.
I've never had this problem with GOG, but you could try reducing the RAM to the minimum required amount before installing the game. (Can this be done without actually taking it out of the case?).

When I installed Windows 7, it wouldn't install correctly. The tech. guy asked me to do this and then install the OS. It worked like a dream. I tried the same thing for Dragonage and the original Witcher, and it worked all three times! (I guess the programs tried to write to the hard drive faster than they were reading)?
Yeah I am getting the same error: (I installed to different directory but most of the error data seems to be the same)

First game I have bought on GOG, not such a great start :(

WORK AROUND:
Change your monitor resolution down to 800x600. Report results please.
My default resolution was 1920x1080, when I lowered down to 800x600 it worked. I have tested it on every resolution between 1920x1080 and 800x600; the game works up to 1776x1000.

REPRO STEPS:
1. Set monitor resolution to 1920x1080
2. Launch VtMR
3. Notice game crashes (see above for crash log)
4. Set monitor resolution to 800x600
5. Launch VtMR
6. Notice game launch normally

Yea I just bought this from GOG and I'm having the same crash, tried lowering the resolution and it still crashing after I click on the exe. This is really annoying.
I, too, am having the exact same problem. :/
Try the Unofficial Vampire Redemption patch 1.2

You're all fantastic, thanks!

Just got it to work!
How did you get it to work 1sttomars? I am having the same problem as you guys :)
I found a solution that worked for me. I had tampered with Direct Draw settings to get other games to work. So what I had to do was that I had to enable Direct Draw hardware acceleration using my Microsoft DirectX SDK (2010). To do it, launch the DirectX Control Panel, switch to the Direct Draw tab and enable hardware acceleration. Standard DirectX do not contain this control panel, you need to download the SDK from Microsoft.
