New to VH and I've a few questions:

I have a number of "unemployed" vikings and I'd like to assign 2 as carriers. How do I do this? It seems I can't assign individuals as hunters, fishers, etc., but somewhere I had been able to assign a carrier but now I can't find it.

Alternatively, how do I get these "unemployed" into the army? None of the newly arrived vikings (or existing "unemployed") are headed that way.

My fisher building and hunter building are full of product but no one is eating. I thought that is what the (communal) "Tents" were for?

I have 17 vikings and 2 tents. Yet I still see people sleeping outside. Why wouldn't they use one of the tents?

I have food in the storage box, but the vikings tend to wander off to forage (to a considerable distance) rather than go to the storage box (yes, considerably closer and faster). Why is this?

Hello,
you can assign carriers only to some buildings(like miller, saw miller, toolmaker). Simply click on a building that you wish to attach a carrier to. Note that not all buildings can have carriers(woodcutter, geologist, for instance).

In order to have an army, you must build army camp. Then click on the army camp and in the window that pops up, click on the Axe, Bow or Heal staff icons. Unemployed Vikings will go to the army camp and collect required weapons in the vicinity of that army camp. That's why it is recommended to build army camps near armouries(or toolmakers, if you want to equip your soldiers with simple axes).

Nope, tents only provides beds and raise the population limit. I think that hunters and fisherman huts must be in the vicinity of other buildings, otherwise Vikings won't eat food. You can bypass this building food storages(must be unlocked firsts) or kitchens(also must be unlocked). I sometimes build kitchen, because the food cooked there satiate the appetite of the Vikings for longer than raw fishes or food.

I think that unemployed Vikings won't use tents. The ones who have work only use tents if their workplaces are in the vicinity of tents. You can see the vicinity of a tent if you click on it :)

Well, seems that my theory about food storage doesn't apply here. Maybe you should build a kitchen, as I mentioned earlier.
