Having just reinstalled both Uprising games last night and attempting to play them in order for the 100th time in my life since they released; I was met with the Splash Screen then Black Screen Application Not Responded bug.

***I am Labeling this as Temporary because im more than positive the steps may have to be repeated on reboot of your PC and launching the game, depending on what application keeps hanging and preventing it from launching properly. This is at least a solution until something permanent comes along.***

Here is how you can find out what is causing it to stick (Windows 10).

**Skip 3a and 3b if you dont care about knowing the exact details in code of whats the problem.**

1 - Open Task Manager, Click Options and Select "Always on Top"

2 - Start the game like you normally would except we need it to hang-up to fix it.**

**3a - Go to: Control Panel > System & Security > Administrator Tools > Event Viewer
look for: critical events: Uprising, stopped responding and was closed.

**3b - Right click it and expand details To find what is causing it.

4 - Open Task Manager and go to the Details Tab.

5 - look for: "Uprising.exe"

6 - Right-Click and select "Analyze Wait Chain" and this will show you which application service is causing it to hang up / non-responsive.

7 - close the application messing with the game and the game should resume normally.

8 - Now expect anomalies because you have the Task Manager still up, so just close Uprising once its starts. Return to the Task Manager and Change it back by de-selecting "Always on Top".

9 - Once you relaunch the game to finally play, head to options and then Controls. Move the Sensitivity Slider all the way to Max (right side) and the Mouse Acceleration to the Left. This will fix the dreaded choppy mouse aiming.

**Ignore these 3 steps below unless the above is still happening or other issues occur.**

Other possible remedies on top of this solution is to put the following Compatibility options on Uprising.exe

- Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.

- Setting the Color Mode to 16bit

- Very rare chance that Administrator Privileges need to be applied.

** Known Issue - This game does not support Multi-Monitor Setups. If you use Extended Screen, mouse tracking falls into your Secondary Displays and glitches the game when you click out of bounds. No known method found to lock the cursor to stay within the boundaries of the Uprising Application with multiple active monitors.
