I don't have the GOG.com version of Uplink, but I seem to remember being able to use one of the
Linux full version and then a
patch in conjunction with resources files from the Windows version distributed on Steam to get a functional installation.
That particular version of Uplink requires GTK+ 1.x libraries; at the time, I used
a PPA, but I don't know if that still works with modern versions of Ubuntu. I know the version of Uplink distributed in the
Humble Introversion Bundle didn't – I think maybe it was statically linked against the libraries or at least they were included in the package.
