I'm having a problem with the sound, its just sounds wrong. The strange thing is that when I originally bought the game off of GOG, it didn't have this problem.

The music works fine, but character voices and weapon sounds are just really glitchy and don't sound right at all. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but that doesn't do anything.

If anyone have any solutions to this problem that would be great

This post is a touch old, but I just ran in to this problem myself and figured I'd share what fixed it for me.

- Open UnrealTournament.ini
- Find the [Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem] section
- Change Latency=40 to Latency=60

I've restarted the game more times than I care to know at this point, and the sound has been perfect every time.

I've done this one - but now the game goes at hyper speed. The sound is good, but the game is too fast to be playable.

Which doesn't make sense to me, considering I only changed an audio latency, but there ya go. Any idea?

Okay, after some more scouring, I found a suggestion to change the latency to 110 (not 60).

This worked!

So if 60 doesn't work for you, try changing it to 110.
