Hey there,
i just tried to install UT GOTY on my new Win7 Laptop, but after the installation (which went fine) the icon placed in the Windows 7 GamesExplorer is unclickable for me. Neither leftclick nor rightclick does anything to it, i can't start the game and i cannot even remove the icon (only through uninstalling the game again)...

I never had this problem with any other game so far. Can someone help?

On my old Vista PC everything, including the icon, worked just fine. I also sent a support ticket, but maybe you guys are faster... :)

Thanks in advance for any help!

On my Vista Ultimate x64 it created two icons in Games Explorer. One non-functioning and one that works. But regardless, you can still start the game from the Start Menu or even from directly running the .exe from the install folder.

This was the case for me too on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. However, you can delete the non-functioning shortcut by using registry editor (regedit.exe). All the information is stored at this location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameUX

In my case the registry key for the non-functioning shortcut was:

{FFE7A75A-0326-44EC-97FC-BF1A433E65FD}

I deleted the whole key and the shortcut was gone.

Here's a more detailed guide with pictures: How to Delete a Game in the Windows 7 Games Explorer Folder.

As the guide states, don't forget to backup your registry first by using File -> Export.
