That sucks, and makes no sense - none of the Unreal games on GoG require a master server to be played and enjoyed. And it doesn't inspire confidence in Epic's storefront as being reliable for posterity when Epic won't allow its old and classic games to continue to be sold. Didn't realise that Epic is an enemy of game preservation.

I have downloaded and kept all the files in my removable hard drive. I won’t be surprised if they mess them up and change them to an “Enhanced” version that will be more expensive and probably not as good. You have been warned.

this is primarily why I am on GOG; being able to backup full game installers without the need of being online to play and no launchers. I like knowing I won't need a online site or client to be able to use my games. Makes it more infinite than finite.
