For more than half a year GOG did not get any update for the Linux version
of Universe Sandbox - it is still version 32.3.2 - so there are major updates
missing since then.

Before the Linux version were quite to the point - but now it seems the Linux support
ended abruptly ...

Unfortunately, one needs phone verification on discord - which is not possible
with prepaid contracts (registered in Germany the same way) - so conversation there
is also not possible in such a case.

Any info would be welcome ...

Yeah, Linux was cancelled after update 32.3.2. They made a statement at the time and it's as you'd expect, they're lazy and Proton exists so they decided to cheap out like every other third-rate developer. Hey, at least it tells you how much the developers actually care about the game if porting it to the easiest platform is too much work for them. But macOS? Over their dead bodies will they leave out that burgeoning (shrinking) market!

I did not see a statement from the devs - but tried to reach the devs and not getting
any information.
The 1st problem I saw was scientifical inacuricies every amateur astronomer could see.
As I made my PhD in Astronomy, I had high hopes for such a game (the term simulation
should be reserved to sciences and should be based on scrientific data) - but it is just
for the Windows people - not deep, graphically showing and with low care.
My suggestions to improve the shortcomings concerning sciences for no response.

I still hope that the developers will have more interest in scrientific details - someday.
But right now it is a toy for the masses.

Steam generally killed the Linux port - and the coding quality.
As I discussed a lot with developers of games, I know that several developers know that
GOG customers do have a higher expertise concerning computers and coding.
It is also clearly visible in bug reports ...
So those devs sent in new 64 bit Binaries for GOG while on Steam they just leave them
to 32 bit, as no one cares (no Steam customers and not Steam representatives).

Well, SteamOS is currently using Arch [rolling distro; formerly it was Debian based] for
their SteamDeck - and are now experimenting with the new WOW64 architecture introduced
with Wine 9 [not yet default], so that 32 bit Windows games will run on 64 bit Linux (but
with shortcomings - like OpenGL may be slower).

When trying Steam I was really astinished that steam tools are faster on Windows - so they make
it slower on Linux on purpose. Additionally, several month one could not create a Steam account
with a Linux system ... It is quite fascinating to see their vision in such practices.
But it was a 'spin-off' from Microsoft ... so those tactics are well known.
And as Steam thinks people are not 'buying a game' but getting a timely limited 'license'
(so servers can be switched off and games no longer running without getting their money back);
This was shocking and had been caused several technical articles by publishers, e.g. like this
German article:
* https://www.heise.de/ratgeber/Weg-von-Steam-Spiele-wirklich-besitzen-offline-spielen-und-installieren-10368528.html
or this one in English:
* https://www.heise.de/en/news/Steam-notice-clarifies-Purchased-games-do-not-belong-to-you-9979075.html
(both form Heise Publishing).
So those facts are a clear statement usable for GOG to advertise their platform.
And while testing Steam and their tools, I never bought a game on Steam - and won't in future
if Steam will follow its track - with using Steam libs to keep games away from other platforms
(with editors, controls, ...) and forcing modders to keep their mods behind Steam walls.
Comparison is quite interesting, though, to see who is helping customers and who is
just there for the money 'earnt'.

I am just testing Wine currently - the code quality under Windows is much worse, but some games
are working sufficiantly performant.
And I will also test Universe Sandbox 35.2.1_(82955) soon - even though I lost interest when
killing the Linux port which is strange as that game is done with Unity 2022.3.1f1 as pure 64 bit - so
no effort for Linux neccessary. And Linux has a huge variety of scientic libraries - no match under
Windows. But as said before - this game is not aimed at scientific simulations, unfortunately.
