Linux version does not support Linux properly.

1. No way to change default font. The default font is an ugly blob that is unreadable. Steam users also complain about this:

2. It does not respect your chosen installation location. It will still use ~/'Universe Sandbox' to save some stuff.

3. Updates are released for Windows only. No updates are released for Linux, and yet it keeps nagging that your version is old.

4. The interactive tutorial launched upon first run is itself buggy. You cannot select Sun to delete it :)

As if this list is not enough, some users report another temperature bug that cannot be fixed.
Well, I think there is some kind of misinterpretation (or a lack of detail in the description).

1)
I am using 4k on a 31.5" screen and have no trouble with fonts (small - but readable - I have seen much worse
fonts) - but I am not using Windows at all so I can not say if font selection is possible/better on Windows.
I am just using the default settings concerning fonts.
But this point may be valid on your system - so write a bug report and inform the developers about your problem.

2)
Unity games have its game config per default in ~/unity3d/<path> with ~ = /home/<username> being the home
of your user.
If you know GNU/Linux systems, you are well aware that it is a multi user system.
Thus each user has its personal config in his own home.
If this does not please you (me, too - as I want to make a simple backup of each "game"), feel free to copy
both configs inside your install directory and then make links to the new ones at the two config locations:
   o ~/Universe\ Sandbox
   o ~/.config/unity3d/Giant\ Army/Universe\ Sandbox

3)
Under Linux there is no GOG Galaxy Client - so no automatic update - for all Linux games on GOG!!!
So you have to go to your account and see your own collection of games - each one having an update will have
a blue bullet next to its name - and the number of available updates is given after the number of games you have.
So if you go to "Universe Sandbox" and click on the tile, you will see the updated version - currently 27.0.5 of 1 GB.
Click on this line and the Download should start.
This file can be executed and will install the new version - but before just delete (or mover if you have enough
disk space) the original install directory.
It may know about an existing update (calling home - which I personally dislike) - but this may be just a hint
to get the update.
GOG could change this situation by releasing GOG client for Linux, too - I personally would not be interested
though as the GOG Galaxy client is a DRM means (similar to the Steam client).
So concerning this point it is not the developers but GOG being responsible for this inconvenience ...
I don't think it may change anything but this would be a point for GOG support.

4)
Not sure what you mean - you can lower the sun's weight drastically so the solar system is no longer bound and
you can see the planets running away - or make a planet even heavier than the sun and see the effect it has.
I am not sure what one is allowed to do as I have not played much ... as I am not content with the current quality.
But you can play with the simulations in crazy ways ... ;)

General remarks:

Of cause there are bugs - this is inDev - report them and wait for the bugs to get fixed - or sum it up in a forum thread
for others to know about and give the link in your bug report.

Universe Sandbox is (currently) using Unity 2019.4.13f1 - which works quite well under Linux - before 2018
(i.e. 5.6 and earlier) a Linux user can expect to have some trouble ... but this improved and is still improving ...
For newer HW a fresher game engine is always a good thing ...

It is not that I don't have things which should be changed - but as being an astrophysicist the use for education
should mean something - which I can not see right now.
I wrote a mail and never got any reaction back - and I would have been surprised if they were willing to address it.

One point is the smartphone GUI which is not suitable at all ... it is a mess to find anything ...
I asked for a showcase were one can see the the different simulations with a short explanation and using the entire
screen automatically ... not this tiny strip.

A second point is VR mode - which is appropriate for games for now - but not for education.
For the latter resolution is everything - that is the reason big movies are no longer using 3D but going to higher
resolution demanding 8k (which I am waiting for to work with) and 16 k (something like the beginning of
digital education ... note that 4k is DinA4 in 300 dpi as produced by Laser printers in 1990 - not kidding! -
and worked on 2kx2k CCD frames in 1990-ies) - to be supported with DisplayPort 2.0.

The used background sky background has a really low resolution (blurred even on 4k screen!) and is not shown correctly -
the Large Magellanic Cloud is there, but the Small Magellanic Cloud is invisible (both are smaller irregular galaxies
interacting with the halo of our spiral galaxy - and both objects are visible with the naked eye on the southern skies).

Additionally several simulations are available by scientists in a much better quality - and I think that if one would
ask the big observatories, one may get some high resolution images to be used in this program.
There are some 8k+ images available for free download ... but as this program is sold one may ask for permission
to do so ...

And concerning education: it would be important to give different wavelength images and explain the differences.
Having a map showing the ground based and satellite telescopes (from historic to up-to-date), showing information
about the big astronomical organisations ... all these would be necessary for education.

But concerning the gaming aspect, the program is nice - just the education aspect is something which does not fit
right now, and it seems this program is not driven in that direction at all.
My astrophysical presentations are all in higher quality and really suited for education - so I would not use this
program for education at all ...
