lufu: Has anyone played the game with a Xbox One controller? It doesn't work for me on GNU/Linux, although it works in Rogue Legacy. But maybe it's not the game's fault after all.

khyeron: I've got the latest update as of 2016.04.30 (april 30 of 2016) for the numerically challenged, running on windows 8.1 x64. Now, Windows 8.1 x64 detects my cheapie Steel Series 1GC (yes its a few years old). I don't do a lot of console gaming, and it plays every PC ported / console style game I've played thus far, including Shovel Knight. It does not, however work with this game.

Catch? Most games and windows see this controller FINE. Windows 8.1 x64 even has drivers for it built in and autoconfigures it (you don't need Steel Engine 2/3 because the pad won't be recognized since its older and lacks all the fancy features of that software.

Any suggestions? (Buying a new gamepad won't do. Since I'd rather spend the 60 bucks at GOG... that's 2 or 3 or more games.) I would think there' be basic direct input/joystick/gamepad support in the windows port (should be faster and easier than including specific support for specific devices.) Otherwise, the game is EXCELLENT, just that keyboard controls suck for platformers.

I speak as a long ago ZSNES keyboard player, there is a huge difference between ergonomic controls and using a keyboard for twitchy platformers. Controllers just work better, and I'd like to use mine, if you folks know a fix. Thanks!
Same here. The Linux version not recognizing my controller is a bummer.
At least ZSnes, Kega Fusion, and Retro City Rampage recognize my wired 360 and Logitech F310 controllers.
I just saw that v.1.5.1.1 was released. Upon upgrading to it, the issue still persists.

The issue is NOT SOLVED
