So I have been wanting to try this game but two things have been keeping me from it. One is I heard the references in the game can be quite painful (and from the 15 minutes of gameplay I watched they seemed a bit much). The other is the surprisingly vast amount of swearing I saw in those 15 minutes of gameplay. But I recently heard that the Wii U version of this game has those both toned down. So, my question is: is there an option to use the Wii U's version of in game text or has the pc version been patched to change some of these issues from the video I saw about 2 years ago.

Why don't I just watch more gameplay? I don't want to possibly spoil something from later in the game.

Edit: Is there multiplayer in the GoG version?

You have to have a particular sense of humor to find the references funny. Despite them happening fairly often, they never bothered me.

As for the swearing, I can't check at the moment but I believe when you start the game, you can choose whether the language is adult orientated, or toned down.

All in all, I'm finding the game to be fun as I really enjoy Metriodvania type games.

When you start the game for the first time you'll be given a choice of +12 or +16 age mode. The game is fully voiced in both modes. This setting isn't provided in-game so if you want to change it later on you'll have to edit config.cfg in the installation folder.

The GOG version does not currently include access to multiplayer. The developer previously included a key for the Steam version (which does have multiplayer) but this was removed for some reason.

Thank you both for your answers. Nice to know they give the option on the language. I might have to pick this game up and give it a try, since the gameplay looks really fun. its really a shame they don't have multiplayer yet in this version, the multiplayer dungeons look quite interesting. But, I'm done with steam so I guess I'll just have to hope it shows up here eventually.
