Please try to type below command on linux terminal.
sudo apt install libssl1.0.0
----EDIT----
I am not sure whether 32-bit or 64-bit, so if it still broken after libssl1.0.0 installed, please install 32-bit libssl1.0.0
sudo apt install libssl1.0.0:i386

Skawtkin: Please try to type below command on linux terminal.
sudo apt install libssl1.0.0
----EDIT----

sudo apt install libssl1.0.0:i386
Gives an error saying that the package does not exist or is not available
I would just install the Windows version and use WINE to play the game. It just works without requiring an obsolete library (why does the game need libssl when it doesn't even do any network requests anyway?), and I believe the Windows version got an update or two (including the one that adds Japanese text, I believe) that the Linux version never got.

Oops, libssl1.0.0 may have been removed in newer versions.
----EDIT----
Remove the wrong solution.

The instructions that I gave yesterday is wrong. It is libssl-dev 1.0.1. I am so sorry. I hope you didn't execute it. :(
Please try below command:

wget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/libssl1.0.0_1.0.2g-1ubuntu4_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get install ./libssl1.0.0_1.0.2g-1ubuntu4_amd64.deb

for 32-bit:

wget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/libssl1.0.0_1.0.2g-1ubuntu4_i386.deb
sudo apt-get install ./libssl1.0.0_1.0.2g-1ubuntu4_i386.deb
