Dosbox-x is the problem.
I put dosbox-x, dosbox (dosbox_staging portable dosbox-staging-windows-x64-v0.82.2.zip) in same directory as Ultimate Body Blows. Is it no sound and music for you? I fixed that with making sure ubb.dat was pointed to correctly, otherwise no audio at all.

People also may need to save the config file after editing, before they close it.

Was also using NTSC and not PAL video display.

Dosbox-x is the problem.
Do you exit DOSBOX the correct way, ctrl+F9,
The original dos may have used the halt command.

DOSBox Staging does not have save state.........
