Hi, I've been trying to play underworld 1 & 2 on the mac through Parallels but it keeps crashing, so am trying to use it with dosbox through the mac instead.

But I can't seem to make it run, looking at the batch files on the PC it seems to be running files called dosboxULTIMA1.conf through dosbox to run the game, but when i try to run this file with dosbox on the mac it comes up with an error. There don't seem to be any .EXE files to run the game as you would normally.

Anyone know how to get this working?

It is possible, but probably the config file for the Windows version was not working correctly in Mac.

You should get it working by doing this (I am running Gog.com versions of ultima games under Linux)

1. Do normal dosbox installation
2. copy ultima files from Windows/Parallels installation to somewhere on your hard disk
3. modify dosbox configuration, use dosboxULTIMA1.conf as example. Remember to change the MOUNT line in configuration to point to the location where you did copy your game files)

you could create different config files for each ultima game, and then run dosbox with that config file.

I would highly recommend using DBGL of some other front end for dosbox. It will simplify the config file management a lot. See http://members.quicknet.nl/blankendaalr/dbgl/
Ah figured it out, you have to using a command called imgmount to mount the game.gog file as a disk, very complicated!
