Hi all. I just started playing this beautiful game with the mouselook patch (it's very comfortable). My first ingame day everything went well: my character got hungry and tired, idk about the items, didn't look at them at the time. I needed to recover some HP, so I slept using the sleepbag on the 1st floor. After this every time I check my character info, or item info, everything is 'static' - it doesn't change, i.e. my hero is always well fed, my items are always of servicable quality. I'm already on my way to the 4th floor, and it seems a bit not right, as I'm not getting the full experience. Is it a known bug in the game? (I don't think it is caused by the patch, as I've said, everything was ok before I used the sleeping bag).

I'm unclear what the issue is.

Food doesn't degrade very quickly; "Day old" food just means it isn't "Fresh", not that it is a literal day old. The next step down is something like "Smelly", at which point it needs to be thrown out. I think Fresh goes to Day Old relatively quickly, but Day Old takes a long time to go to Smelly.

Weapons and armor only degrade when used, and even then mostly only when your skill at using them is very low. You'll see a message about when they take damage. Weapons may degrade when you hit something with them, while armor may degrade when something hits you.

Wands use one charge each time they are clicked, and when they run out of charges they have a chance of breaking each time they are used. Other items that have charges are simply out of charges.

I can't think of anything else that degrades.

I mean even days don't progress. It's always now the early morning of my 2nd day in the Abyss. I don't starve, I don't tire. My food is always 2 days old. + During my fight with the monster in the dwarfs' mines I got like 15 or 20 messages 'you weapon was damaged' or sth like this, but after the battle I looked at it, and it was still 'servicable'
That definitely sounds like a bug.
Nvm, after roughly 10hrs of playing the game my character is PEKISH! and it is now mid-day of my 2nd day in the Abyss (now I started to think if this time thing is somehow linked to my system clocks). Though my items still don't degrade.

In-game time doesn't pass super quick. I don't think it is quite real world time, but it might be close. I've beaten the game in a single game day, start to finish.

I would have expected some weapon degradation if you got 15-20 messages about weapon damage, but maybe the particular numbers just worked out to put you from the top end of the weapon's status to the low end.

Save your game and then try sleeping multiple times in a row. Half a dozen or so.
