I know this was asked nearly a year ago, but I'll ask again from a different direction. I know how to activate the debug options. I created a .bat file way back when when I used moslo and the various programs to get U7 to run in WinXP.

I've been looking over the files in my GOG U7 directories. I installed to f:\GOG.com\The Complete Ultima VII (which makes certain dosBox options fail to work). There are two files in BG (dosboxULTIMA7.conf, U7.bat) and three in SI (dosboxSERPENT.conf, SERP.bat, SI.bat) I've looked at as possible candidates for activating the debug keys, but they don't seem to work.

Which file(s) would I need to edit to add the password or direct the command to a .bat file with it?

I don't have U7 installed at the moment, but judging by other GoG games, unless it points to a .bat file instead of an .exe file, it should be sufficient to edit the relevant .conf file and add the debug mode tag to the commands at the end.

So I edit the final lines to the .conf file to the drive (which is f:\), the directory, then the .bat with the password? Trying to edit the .exe line either fails to open the game or won't allow the F2/F3 keys to work.
