That's normal; the DOS version (which the GOG version is an emulation of) does not have music.

There is an unofficial "upgrade" mod floating around the Internet that adds music similar to what other versions of the game have if you really do want music. It appears that you can find it (and similar mods for other Ultimas) at
http://exodus.voyd.net/download.html
Thank you.

Perhaps I remembered it through a cloud of nostalgica...
But I could have sworn it had music back in the days.

I have the Original Box (with 5,25" Floppies) somewhere,
and the 1-6 Collection on CD. I will have a look at those.

You probably played the game on something other than an IBM PC. The Apple 2 version certainly had music, as did the Commodore 128 (not 64!) version, but the DOS version did not.
No, I played it on a 386DX33 with a 100MB Harddrive.
A Hell of maschine back then.
As I said. Nostalgica.

The SFX on the internal PC-Speaker sounded better then the emulated though. :-)

Is there a way to slow down the emulation on mac like with dosbox?
(I have PC but I want to play it in bed with my macbook) :-)
