I've noticed that there are several levels of UU's maps that are listed in the pdf, but level one is the only area that is displayed. Is it supposed to be like that? Thank you!
Yes, Level 1 is the only one that has been mapped. It's there to help out new players until they get used to the game, like a tutorial, except not all in your face. Back then a full 3D game was something unusual for everyone and the developers had to make sure new players wouldn't just throw their hands in the air and run in circles screaming after five minutes.

Ah, thank you! I had found scans of complete map sets online (but haven't used them!), so I got to wondering if there was an issue - thanks for the clarification!

The complete maps were probably from the cluebook, which was sold separately. It's included among the extras with the GoG download, so if you get stuck just look up the complete map and the walkthrough there. Even if you don' want to use the clues, it still has some nice lore, although with minor spoilers.
