I recently purchased Ultima VIII Gold Edition during one of GOG's sales. After reading through this community forum, I installed the Pentagram game engine. My question is, does Pentagram allow you to maintain more than one saved game in the Pentagram u8-save folded?

The Pentagram website states that clicking F7 results in a quick save, which works. However, when I later click F7, to save the game again, the new save overwrites the previous game save. No matter how many times I save, I always have only one save, which is the most recent save.

When I do a quick save, the game is saved to a file titled "quicksave" in "C:\Users\Rich2\AppData\Roaming\Pentagram\u8-save". The Pentagram.ini file includes a default setting "lastSave=@save/quicksave"

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That's how quicksave works pretty much in every game. It's not intended to be a replacement for normal saving.

So, if you want more saves, you must save through game menu.

triock,

Thank you very much. I did not know how to save in the game menu. All I saw was the quick save and quick load under the game's "controls" under "options", did not appear to work for me. And I assumed Pentagram changed the saving process. After reading your reply above, I looked at the game manual, and learned that regular game saves and loads are accomplished through the game's diary. I did a couple of non-quick saves and loads, all went well.

Thank you again for your reply. I can now save multiple game versions, which may come in handy if (or should I say when) I need to go back in time.
