Hey there I installed this little jewel today and tried running it but the dosbox closes right after the orange logo disappears, on the first install I manadged to get a look at the intro of Serpent Isle but had the same issue after that, so I uninstalled and reinstalled (As Administrator) then I tired changing the Graphic Mode, reinstalling (several times), running windowed instead of fullscreen, removed scalling, changed resolution but still the dosbox crashes or shuts its self of..no clue, any ideas? Thanks.

Running Win7 64 bit With an Intel i7 2600k and a GTX570

I had the same problem and solved it by setting the shortcut properties to "run as administrator".

Same here.....Right click then run as administrator. Works like a charm then.

I always recommend to install all games outside of the Program Files - folder. This way, the file protection does not kick in and you can freely modify all files etc. And there is no virtualstore things.

Have to try the shortcut properties, but the rightclick-->Run as Admin isnt working, also the instal outside of the program files folder I will look into that too (this weekend or maybe on the laptop when I go visit parents), but for now Exult had it working for me.

Hmm I always put my files in there and can modify them. I must have set myself to be able to, I guess.

The thing is that files under "Program Files" are protected by virtualstore (so some Dosbox/game settings files are relocated to user home folder folder)... And sometimes this seems to mess things up

From the start menu folder for Ultima VII, run the Graphics Mode setup app.

In the Basic Settings tab, uncheck "Full Screen".

Follow up question(s) here - I had the same problem and the "grafix mode" setup worked like a charm - however, I have to run the game through this every time even though the settings are saved. Is there anyway to automatically run the game with the modified settings without having to go through the setup every time?

Also - anybody know how to get the serpenthack mode running through dosbox? I'm assuming it must be though modifying the shortcut path but there's a bunch of other settings in there I don't want to mess with...
